Welcome to the week of May 17-21.
On Monday we skyped colonel Will Roy and it was a lot of fun. We went to the whale of the sale in Mrs.Larabee's class. They had a lot of stuff to buy there. We discussed the weekly reader topic Allergy Attack.
On Tuesday we had an echo field trip. Everybody had a lot of FUN, especially at the jeopardy game. On the Spirit of Ethan Allen 3. It was a 2 hour ride, but we all had fun.
On Wednesday we wrote about what we did, learned and favorite part at the Echo field trip. At readers workshop we saw a deer and it was trying to jump over the fence. At writers workshop Lauren came into help.
On Thursday we did math and Sal's sub shop. Wyatt did a presentation on the book he read The Lord of The Rings The Fellowship of The Rings. At the end of the day we had Library and that was the last Library we could check books out of the Library.
On Friday we did flash cards and figured out how many boxes there were in the 2d shapes. Then we had Guidance and our class made the record of 41 seconds.

Week of monday the 10th in may.
Monday:math- We played the fill 2 decimal game in which we add decimals.
Break-Brandon brought in cupcakes. we had a science NECAP test.
Tuesday: Math- Adding decimals reviewing homework We played a game called Quizville where you put decimals on a number line, we went to an MMU concert in the gym. Readers/writer's workshop- guided reading groups share, wax person
Wednesday- for P.O.D we were making tables in math we reviewed our homework and played the fill 2 decimal game. science NECAPs readers and writers workshop- we worked on typing up our report. We also worked on responding to text. Group 2 had composition.
Thursday-P.O.D-we made a grid. math-reviewing homework and we had a math assessment readers writers workshop-Wax figure and book responses. In place of read aloud-skyping the tech group who is a small group of people explaining how we use technology in the classroom, we also had sharing.
Friday- math- In math we reviewed our test and we did an online rice game- guidance we used crates to get over a fake lava pit. We had science NECAPS at 10:15. and then we had read aloud.

Week Of May Third
Monday- We had concert practice for Tuesday's concert. It was hard to get back to our normal schedule! We have had a week off for April break. In Elf we went to a local river (Brown's river) to examine what organisms live there. We found cray-fish, insects and snails. We'll be uploading pictures of what we found on Monday. We also watched a webcast from Scholastic. We watched 5 authors like Gordon Korman compete head to head on their knowledge of kid's books. The winner chose one class (who registered) to give books to. I thought it was pretty cool to see how they were competing. The questions were interesting!
Tuesday- We had our concert. We sang and played recorder songs and the gym was full! We didn't have art because the concert took longer than we were expecting. In Spanish, we learned more about a different language and played a game called "Swat". We also took a test. In math we played a game that taught us more about decimals and fractions. We skimmed and scanned for fractions and decimals in Math To Know and the Burlington Free Press.
Wednesday- We had music and sang songs and played games like stop and drop. We also picked a slide show for different topics and technology. In math we played a decimal game that was like War. It helped everybody understand decimals. In composition, we made songs to go with Hot Cross Buns.
Thursday- We planned what kids are going to show at the technology presentation next week. Like making movies, Google Earth and how we use the Flip camera. Wyatt and Lukas made a movie that they showed us for a book response. We also had a reader's theater group present. Lindsay and Kathleen presented the book The Perfect Pet. We also have an incubator with 24 chicken eggs inside. We are going to raise them until they hatch and then we'll be giving them to a farm. When we candled the eggs, most of them were stuck to one side. Mrs. Randall said that this is the first time she has ever seen this. We hope for the best! We are going to be Skyping Madeleine Kunin next Tuesday morning so Eleanor can ask further questions for her wax museum figure.

Eleanor and I will be Skyping our K-Buddies this afternoon to talk about what they've been working on this week. Clara gave a book talk today.
